Middle degree training programs

Middle degree training programs are professionalisation learnings that provide the training needed to acquire the professional comperence and knowledge in every sector.

They are classified in professional families and have a duration of 2.000 hours (in two academic years).

The degree obtained when finishing a middle grade training program is technician of the corresponding professional profile, which allows access to work world, to ther middle grade training programs or to superior degree training programs.

Direct access to middle degree training programs is given to the people meeting one of the following requisites:

• Having the degree of secondary compulsory education
• Having the degree of technician or assistent technician
• Having finished the specific course for access to middle grade training programs (CAM)
• Having finished the second year of the former batxillerat unificat i polivalent (BUP)
• Having other studies that are equivalent for the academic purpose
• Having finished the compulsory modules in an inicial professional qualification program (programa de qualificació professional inicial, PQPI)
• Having passed the university entrance exam for people older than 25 years old, or to 45 years old, or having entered the univeristy after getting accredited working or professional experience being 40 years old
• Having a degree to enter a superior degree training program

The people not meeting any of the previous requisites must pass an entrance exam. To do the exam people need to be, at least, 17 years old the year in which it takes place.

Pre-registration and enrolment

In order to study a middle degree training program it is needed to formalise the pre-registration and handle it in the centre where the first option is studied.

Admission will depend on the grade point average in compulsory secondary education or equivalent studies. The applications having the same points will be ordered using a tie breaker number obtained by raffle.

There is a 20% of admission reserved for students entering a training program through the entrance exam or the specific entrant course. The applications by these students will be ordered according to the mark obtained in the exam or course.

These studies are free in the centres depending on the Department of Education.

The people successfully finishing the middle degree training program will obtain the degree of technician, which allows them to access:

• To baccalaureate
• To a superior degree training program
• To work world
